Bryan began his career with the "Big-5" international public accounting firm, Ernst & Young. His eight year tenure with E&Y included 3 1/2 years in the Houston practice office focusing on providing financial audit, computer audit, and microcomputer consulting services to both publicly held and privately-owned organizations in the financial services, not-for-profit, health care, governmental manufacturing, oil & gas, and service industries; three years with the firm's National Audit Automation Group in Cleveland with responsibilities in research and development for the firm's application of technology in the accounting, audit and tax practice areas; and finally 11/2 years as Manager-in-Charge of the Microcomputer Systems Consulting practice in the Pittsburgh practice office where his responsibilities were primarily in the area of accounting information systems implementation and security and small business advisory services.
In 1992, Bryan established his independent full-service CPA firm, based in Connellsville, primarily serving the Fay-West region. He serves small to medium sized businesses and individuals in the manufacturing, health-care, construction/contracting, government/municipality, financial services, personal service, retail, restaurant and not-for-profit industry segments. His range of services includes information technology planning and implementation, accounting services and compilations, personal and business taxation planning and preparation, personal financial and estate planning, business startup assistance, business strategic coaching, business succession planning and litigation support services.
In 1984, Bryan was awarded his Pennsylvania CPA certification and in 1994 was also certified in Ohio. In addition, in 1987, Bryan earned his Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification administered by ISACF and in 2004 earned his Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credentialing sponsored by the AICPA.
Over the course of his career, Bryan has been an invited speaker at local, state, national and international conferences on various computer security, audit and technology topics. In addition, he has published an article in the Ohio CPA journal on the topic of Computer Security and has been invited to publish in several other professional journals over the course of his career. His firm is a certified CPE sponsor in Pennsylvania and offers various CPE courses on accounting and technology topics.
Bryan is an active member in good standing of the AICPA and PICPA and has previously served on the Southwest PICPA Chapter Executive Committee. In addition he is a current member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Chapter. Currently, Bryan is President of the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the Connellsville Main Street Initiative and Board Member of Fay-Penn Economic Development Council. Other previous professional activities include founding co-chair of the Professional/Retail Division of the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of the Houston Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, Classroom Consultant for Junior Achievement and Treasurer and Webmaster for the Connellsville Soccer Club, Inc, a regional youth soccer association.
Bryan's hobbies include reading, golf and martial arts and he is a Little League coach. His wife, Margel Guie is a family practice physician in Connellsville and they have two sons, Benjamin and Luke.
